Capabilities - Intelligence Analysis
IIS has been supporting our customers with intelligence analysis activities since April 2005. We have supported both All-Source and HUMINT for the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community.
Human Intelligence (HUMINT)
IIS has provided Collection Management Officers (CMOs), Staff Operations Officers (SOOs), and Special Skills Officers (SSOs).
CMOs are core collectors who guide clandestine human intelligence collection and dissemination by serving as the bridge between core collectors and the intelligence consumer. CMOs establish and identify intelligence collection requirements, validate sources and evaluate intelligence production of human sources.
SOOs guide and support human intelligence collection and clandestine activities while protecting sources and methods in both the foreign and domestic field. SOOs serve as the primary interface between CIA Headquarters and those serving overseas. SSOs are sometimes called Desk Officers.
SSOs serve both at Headquarters and overseas. The SSO cadre is a diverse group consisting of Information Resource Officers, Language Officers, Paramilitary Officers, Programs and Plans Officers, and Targeting Officers.
All Source Analysis
All-source analysts apply a thorough understanding of the intelligence process to compile, collate, analyze, produce, and evaluate all-source (e.g., Human, Imagery, Signals) intelligence and provide subject matter expertise. Prepare a variety of recurring and special messages, reports, briefings, information papers, assessments, and forecasts. Analyze time-sensitive reporting from a variety of sources and develop a fused, compressive snapshot of the situation.
Counterterrorism (CT) Analysis
CT analysts support the Global War on Terrorism, crises, and military and counterintelligence (CI) operations. CT analysts review various sources and types of intelligence information, derive relevant conclusions for reporting, and input relevant data into the applicable databases. CT analysts create target intelligence packages and campaign analysis plans. Prepare intelligence desk notes; conduct nodal and network studies and analysis; pattern of life studies; and draft threat advisory messages and papers
